Make sure the specified user name and password have sufficient
privileges for browsing the Active Directory tree.
If you specified an organizational unit name, make sure that it
exists on the Active Directory tree, that its name is no longer than
256 characters and does not contain a forward slash (/), that it
contains no more than 100 subunits, and that its name is preceded
by a forward slash (such as /Sales).
Make sure the storage system time and Active Directory server
time do not differ by more than five minutes. If they do, you must
adjust the storage system time, time zone, or both to ensure that
they match (as described in “Changing the system settings” on
page 165).
Make sure the administrator user name and password for
accessing the Active Directory server are valid and have sufficient
privileges for adding the storage system to the Active Directory
tree.
Not all of my Active Directory users or groups were added to
the storage system.
The storage system can accommodate a maximum of 256 Active
Directory users and 256 NFS users, for a total of 512 users and groups. If
the selected organizational unit on the Active Directory server has
more than that, the excess users or groups will not be added to the
storage system.
To better control which users or groups are added to the storage
system, you might want to create a new organizational unit that
contains the appropriate number of entities, switch back to local
authentication mode (as described in “Changing the authentication
mode” on page 137), and then switch to Active Directory
authentication mode again, specifying the new organizational unit.
The user names that appear on the storage system do not
match the names that appear in the Active Directory tree.
The storage system displays the User logon name that displays on the
Account tab on the Properties dialog box on the Active Directory
server. This name might differ from the name that displays in the
Active Directory tree. To ensure that the names are the same, you can
either change the User logon name to match the name that displays in
the tree, or change the name in the tree to match the User logon
name.
